Hilton Members Flying the Flag

Four of Hilton Templepatrick's young members have been in action during the last few days and flying the flag high.
Josh Black & Ewan McArthur were both playing in the Leinster Boys Under 16 Championship at Beaverstown GC. Ewan McArthur held the overnight lead following a superb 71 (-1) having made 6 birdies in his round with Josh a few back following a 1st round 76. At the end of play on day 2 Ewan couldn't hold the lead and fell back to tied 9th place with an 81, but Josh improved on day 2 shooting a 74 to finish in tied 4th.
Josh has also been named in the Ireland squad participating in the Under 16 Quadrangular Matches between Ireland, Scotland, Wales & The Netherlands, an event you may remember was hosted here in Templepatrick back in 2016. This is Josh's second appearance in the event which both his brother Reece & JJ Logue have represented their country in before.
On the opposite side of the country at Rosses Point two more Hilton youth members Reece Black & JJ Logue were taking part in the West of Ireland Championship. The recent poor weather has tamed the links keeping the rough at a playable level and slowing down the greens. Reece posted a level par 71 (including 3 birdies & 3 bogeys) whilst JJ had a 75 (1 birdie & 5 bogeys). Both boys tee off again today in round 2 at 2.00pm where the top 64 players will progress to the matchplay stages.
I'm sure you will join me in wishing all the boys the very best of luck during the 2018 season and to keep the Hilton Templepatrick GC flag flying high.

Our floodlight driving range incorporates 16 bays, with 7 of them fitted with an automated teeing system. All the bays are equipped with true-strike mats giving you the most realistic feel when practicing and we use the highest quality Srixon range balls. The range is 300 yards in length and has numerous target greens and nets to keep your game sharp. We have recently added a “short-game zone” where you can work on your bunker, chipping, pitching and putting play in “on-course” conditions.
